• The third Shadow Reader novel is with my editor! It’s been with her for a couple of weeks, so I’ve taken a bit of a break. I pretty much abandoned my real life to finish that sucker up, so I’ve been spending time with my boys and husband and trying to get my household under control. I’m ready to get back into the writing routine, though!

    • I downloaded the LoseIt! app and have logged every morsel I’ve eaten for the last two weeks. What have I discovered? Holy guacomole, I eat way too much! I have the app set up so that I’ll supposedly lose 1/2 a pound a week if I stick to 1800 calories a day, and I’ve gone over my weekly calorie limit by 2,000-3,000 calories both weeks I’ve been keeping track. I’m doing much better this week now that I’m aware of my calorie intake, but I still can’t stay under that 1800 calorie limit unless I exercise. Big surprise there. Instead of going to the gym, I’ve been doing Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. I’ve never really done workout videos before. I’ve always gone to the gym, but finding the time and the willpower to drive over there doesn’t happen all that often. Plus, I don’t think I’ve been getting a great work out there because I don’t push myself. So far, this DVD is working out okay for me. We’ll see if I get results in a few weeks.

    • I have a tumblr! It’s here: http://www.tumblr.com/blog/sandywilliamswrites I’m thinking about only using tumblr instead of blogging here since I blog so irregularly. It seems like it should be easier, but so far, I’m not posting over there all that much more than I post here. *shrugs*

    • I’ve decided to read Pride and Prejudice. I admitted yesterday on Facebook that I’ve never read a Jane Austen novel, and pretty much everyone suggested I start with that one. So far, I’ve only read a few clicks on my ereader. I think I like the conversation, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what to make of the dad. Austen isn’t giving me any emotional cues, so I have only his dialogue to go by, and I can’t figure out if he’s toying with the mother or if he’s a complete jerk.

  • I’m working on a short story set in the Shadow Reader universe. I can’t go into details, but it’s interesting. I’ve never written a short before. I don’t read them very often. Not sure why. I guess it’s because, if I like the story, I want more of it, but if I don’t like the story… well, then I don’t even want the short version of it? Anyway, I know everything that happens in this story; I just have to get it all down on paper and make it all shiny and awesome. Hope I can do it!
