I’m starting off with the new giveaway because I’m incredibly excited about Megan’s debut, No Peace for the Damned.
Not only does this book have an awesome cover, but it’s an awesome story as well, and Megan’s voice gripped me right from the beginning. Like, it REALLY gripped me. I’m a huge, huge fan of her writing style. Authors hear all the time how important it is to have a good, unique voice, and Megan has it. I’ll read anything she writes.
Loved this book so much I blurbed it. Here’s what I said:
“Make way for an engaging new voice in urban fantasy! Megan Powell explores the dark and evil in her gripping debut. You won’t be able to put this down, and the ending will leave you wanting more… and asking if there can ever be peace for the damned.”
Needless to say, I’m extremely excited to give away a copy of this book. I will forewarn you that this is a dark, kind of disturbing urban fantasy (but not too disturbing or I wouldn’t like it!). To win a copy of this book, just leave a comment on my blog (if you’re reading this through a feed like on Goodreads or Amazon, please click over to my website). I’ll randomly choose a winner next Tuesday. Contest is open only to US residents.
Oh, and here’s the summary before I get to last week’s giveaway winner:
Magnolia Kelch is no stranger to pain. Beautiful and powerful, she’s spent her entire life at the mercy of her sadistic father and the rest of the Kelch clan, who have tortured her and tested the limits of her powers. After one particularly heinous night that leaves Magnolia nearly dead, she finally sees her chance for escape…
But this first taste of freedom is short-lived when she collides with Thirteen, head of the Network—a secret organization dedicated to fighting supernatural criminals—who recruits her into the group. Even as she’s coming to grips with this new life and the horrific memories that still haunt her, she’s conflicted by her growing attraction to fellow team member Theo and the emergence of new, untested abilities. After months of grueling training, her loyalty to the team is tested when she learns her target is the Network’s most wanted: the Kelch family.
Revenge may course through her veins, but so does the blood of the Kelches. And opposing her family may cost her the thing she treasures most. After all, Magnolia is still a Kelch. And the Kelch are damned.
Winner of Amanda Bonilla’s BLOOD BEFORE SUNRISE
And the randomly drawn winner of BLOOD BEFORE SUNRISE is….
Comment #13, MARIA, who said “LOVED the first one and read it because of you Sandy! Can’t wait to win the next one!!”
Glad you loved the first book! Just send me an email at sandy AT sandy DASH williams DOT com and let me know if you prefer a print book or an ebook. Congratulations!
Dark, disturbing urban fantasy? Count me in!
This is my first time hearing about this debut. It sounds great! Thank you for the giveaway! 😉
I love dark! Empowered survivor? Count me in!
Sounds like a good one. Count me in!
🙂 Sounded very interesting when I stumbled across it on goodreads & still does now!
I have contemplated picking this up. The cover makes it seem like it is YA, is it? Sandy you wrote a nice blurb for it, makes me want to read it.
Oh, it’s definitely not YA. I think the MC is in her early 20s.
Comment, comment, comment. Your recommendation is indeed high praise, which is so nice to hear since premieres can be viewed somewhat jadedly. I would LOVE a copy of this book. I will illegally bribe you with digital e-cookies and look winsome to get it.
Oooh, digital e-cookies. Yum!
I loved Shadow Reader and any recommendation from you is worth checking out. Sign me up!
Sounds awesome!!! I just looked for it at my library in Canada but it doesn’t seem o be there! Has been released there yet do you know? Can’t wait to read it! Thx for the recommendation!
It *just* came out on Tuesday, so I wouldn’t think any libray would have it yet. Wouldn’t hurt to request it, thoug! 🙂
Oh sounds interesting, and if you’re recommending it must be good! Thanks for the giveaway.
Sounds great! Count me in!
I love it when authors recommend other authors. I’m always on the lookout for new books. Thanks for the giveaway!
The book sounds amazing. I’d love to read it.
Comment! I like reading any of your recommendations. However, I think there was one that you gave me that happened to be in the *middle* of the series, and perhaps I would have liked it had I started from the beginning, but otherwise your recommendations are spot on. Can I win it??
hehehe You’re never going to let me live that down, are you? In my defense, I think the second book WAS better than the first!
